Jeff Alkire; baritone saxophone

Maverick US saxophonist Jeff Alkire held the position of Lecturer in Jazz Saxophone at the University of Adelaide from 1999 to 2001. Amongst his many top level gigs was a long term stint as baritone saxophonist with Ray Charles. Jeff brought a wonderful sense of musical freedom to the jazz scene in his time in Adelaide. He subbed for Mulder on baritone saxophone with Marmalade Circus for a few gigs, most notably their appearances at the Thredbo Jazz Festival.
