Susan Ferguson (born 10/1/1969 Adelaide, SA) Vocalist Susan Ferguson completed a Bachelor of Music in classical voice at the Elder Conservatorium in 1990 and a Graduate Diploma of Education in 1991. She has sung soprano and mezzo-soprano in the chorus of the State Opera of South Australia since 1990 performing in Cavalleria Rusticana, I Pagliacci, Parsifal (Australian Premiere), Cosi fan Tutte, Romeo and Juliet, The Marriage of Figaro, Turandot, Eugene Onegin, Falstaff, La Traviata, Macbeth, Carmen, Lucia Di Lammermoor, Otello and Aida.
As a backing vocalist Susan performed in How Great Thou Art: The Gospel Music Of Elvis Presley in the Adelaide Cabaret Festival in 2003 and in Elder Park Carols by Candlelight 2002 with Andy Seymour's-The King of Rock and Roll. Susan has taught as a specialist classroom music teacher in High Schools and Primary Schools since 1991 and has been working at Star Of the Sea Primary School since 2000. She conducted for the Australian Youth Choir from 1996-1999. She worked as a principal performer and vocal coach for the Alphabet Children;s Theatre from 1990-1993. She also performed as a lead in over 30 amateur musical theatre productions from 1980-1993. As well as her Marmalade commitments (and her two children) Susan works regularly with Andy Seymour's - The King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley tribute show. |
