Warren Heading; trumpet and flugelhorn

Warren joined the band in July 2000 and his trademark glassy tone has been a key feature of the band's sound since then.

Warren HeadingHe completed a Bachelor of Music (Perf.) at the S.A.C.A.E. in 1986. As a member of The Boss Quintet he recorded live-to-air for Jim McLeod's Jazz Track in May 1999. Warren has supported Dizzie Gillespie, Courtney Pine and UB40 and backed Cleo Laine, Lou Rawles, Chuck Findley, Don Lusher, Phil Wilson, Lee Konitz, Art Depew, Beryl Davis, Bill Tole, Max Pellicano, Ben Folds Five, Don Burrows, James Morrison, Billie Wilde, John Farnham, Olivia Newton-John, Anthony Warlow, Glen Shorrock, Ross Wilson, Normie Rowe, Colleen Hewitt, Marina Prior, Tom Burlinson and Ian “Macca” McNamara.

 

Warren played with the University of Adelaide Brass Ensemble in Aberdeen/London in 1977 and Singapore/Malaysia in 1980 as part of the International Festival of Youth Orchestras and Performing Arts. Warren has performed with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Australian Opera and played for shows including, Fame, The Boy From Oz and The Main Event. Warren also plays with Goose, Royal Garden Jazz Band and The Boss Quintet. Warren was a featured soloist in the Percussion Project.
